Chillin' with Uncle Matt

This is the good life...sitting in the pool eating a popsicle. Evan has it even better...sitting in the pool eating a popsicle that someone else is feeding you! As you can see Uncle Matt has a squirt gun and he kept shooting it in Ethan's mouth...boys! :) The boys had good visit with Uncle Matt! And Uncle Matt had a good visit with theboys. We also had a Meyers (my mom's family) get together. It was fun seeing all the cousins..okay not all of them, but some of them! We had fun playing our annual "blind man's bluff" in the pool! Good thing the water level was down a couple of inches...I could actually touch this time...or I would have drowned becasue I am no good at that game. :) PS -- the adults did not play pool games in the below pool....ha!!!!

Here is Uncle Matt with Ethan and Evan...spoiling them!

Here is Ethan getting a drink from Uncle Matt's squirt gun!

Disaster Zone

Hi....I got a call this morning that we have another showing! That is the third showing in less than a week. It is exciting, but I needed to share with you the war I am against with having our house on the market!

This is Ethan's room! It is hard to see but he is actually under that pile of blankets and clothes. Besides his normal "train" mess, he decided that he would empty a couple of his clothes drawers. Thanks Ethan! Actually Evan crawled out of the picture...so he is involved too!! I never thought how hard it would be to have showings with a 1 and 2 year old!

State Fair 2007

We went to the State Fair today, and met up with the Hess Family. All the kids (and adults) liked looking at the animals. For some reason my picture of the pig and the pigglets didn't turn out. They boys really liked that! We also got to pet a Llama...I was a little afraid of him! :) We also looked at the horses! Last time we were at the fair all the horses were out! We saw a lot of Belgium horses...they were big, and a couple of them weren't too happy. They were kicking at the walls! They were ready to go back home...
We had a good time but had to head home due to have two VERY sleepy boys. Evan was asleep in the car before we got out of the parking lot! Here are a couple pictures!

This is the worlds largest boars...I think it weighed over 900 lbs!

The boys had a good time building a train! It was a cool section in one of the 4H buildings. Ethan and Lucas did not appreciate the time that the train needed to dry! :)

Here is the largest pumpkin...

Ouch...

It doesn't hurt so much here, but here......

Greetings from Across the Globe

Hi...here is an email that Matt sent out today...some of you received it.

Hey all,I don't write too many emails (as Flowers puts it -- Iam unfamiliar with the email machine) but today waspretty sweet. I am currently hangin' in Sitges, alittle del oeste de Barthelona (yes, that's how theysay it) in Spain. Sweet town - except for the nakedmiddle aged dudes I saw playin' paddle ball at thebeach across from the hotel.

We are working at IDIADA, a test facility similar toGM's Desert Proving Grounds (except that it is in kickass Spain.) Up until today, it had been an 8 AM to 9pm calibration-fest. The cal work is pretty similarto my old job with similar issues. The first day waslost to preparation, the customer did not bring orreserve a tow dyno, there is only one Gamma II engine, and it is not in a pilot vehicle etc., etc.But - who cares?

Today was a day of rest. So, my Korean amigo, Young Soo, and I decided to drivelike mad Europeans to Andorra, a small tax free zoneof a country about the size of Kokomo (only with moremountains and less deodorant) that is smack dab inbetween Spain and France. Young Soo is from Ansahn inSouth Korea, and makes me look like I know Spanish. (But with Catalan, the official language of Andorra,we were both out of luck.) Anyway, Andorra is in the Pyrenees, about three hoursfrom Barthelona and is absolutely gorgeous. We firedup the rental bad boy - a little diesel VolkswagenGolf (that beat hell out of my back like a goodcompact car should) and made the customs checkpoint injust over three hours. We hit as many of the sites as we could in a day. Oldchurches, museums, etc. It is a good thing Young Soobrought his digital camera. There were potentialpicture everywhere. We really dug Ordino, a smallcity northwest of the capital. Andorra La Vella andEscaldes-Engordany are great, but after awhile wereally wanted to escape the "duty-free-ness." (youknow the duty free perfume and liquor stores at someinternational airports? These two towns are loadedwith these stores...block after block after frickin'block.)The town of Ordino is quaint and beautiful. The MuseuPostal is a nice little spot; it has a neat littlecourtyard. We went exploring behind an old church andbell tower (and scared the holy poo out of some oldAndorran woman who apparently lives there.) The edgeof the town has a great view of the mountains. Itlooks like a hot spot for hikers and mountain bikersand other dudes like Hoffman, too. Also, I believe itattracts ski buffs.Anyway, I gotta run -- its back to work tomorrow. Iattached a couple o' pics.

We can make it..only a few more days

Hi. We are hanging in here without DADDY...barely. Poor Ethan really misses his daddy...he keeps asking me "where daddy at?" So sad...I didn't tell Matt that on the phone because I am sure that would make him sad. Here is a clip from an email I got today from Matt:

"I am serious about coming here someday. I think the boys would like it when they get a little older. If nothing else, they would enjoy the beach. Between Sitges, Barcelona, and Andorra, there are many beautiful sights, beaches, museums, etc."

Looks like we better start saving for a vacation....!! Luckily Matt got today (Sunday) off and he and another guy he knows (from Korea) went out driving around. They went to this little country called Andorra. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive...he said it was AWESOME. He should have some pictures...I will post them!

We will all be glad to see him on Wednesday evening. If all goes well he gets into Indy around 5:30p I think! :) Evan took a step today...I told Matt but he hopes that he isn't walking when he gets home...! I need his big-ol butt to start walking. He is 26 lbs of dead weight in my arms!

Hope you all have a great week!

Spain....Spain

Hi. No pictures right now...don't want to download them off the camera...too lazy tonight. Maybe later this weekend. Matt is in Spain...he left on Tuesday and comes back next Wednesday. He said is really pretty...have to wait for pictures..maybe because I didn't let him take the camera! Ha.

Not too much happening here...the boys enjoyed their second week of day care....they go on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It was especially nice this week since Matt is gone. Gave me a chance to work, and have some fun. On Thursday I had an 8 am, 9am, and 10 am meeting! Ugh...but then went to lunch, then hair cut, then pedicure. I wanted to go home and take a nap, but we had a showing on our house. No real bites yet, but I know they are out their. We have had like 15 showings so that is a good sign. It is definitely hard keeping your house cleaned and picked up with a 1 year old, 2 year old, 2 dogs and a cat. At least this showing there was one less person to make a mess! Ha.

The boys each did something out of the ordinary today....Ethan--he didn't want to wear a diaper so I thought...I will just go with it and see what happens. Well...not so good. He was crying in his bedroom and when I went in there...there it was...a pile of poop. :( He has stepped in it, and then somehow had it on his hands...ugh. All he could say over and over was ICKY....note to self...don't do that again.

Then Evan was being all lovey, dovey to me this evening...snuggling on me, kissing me...you know working his Evan charm which comes way too easy! Then...he was giving me another kiss....and he bit my lip. It is all swollen tonight...luckily it didn't break the skin. So...that was my day...full of poop and aches! :)
